Applications fireworks at the LOPE-C 2009 - PolyIC demonstrates interactive applications of printed electronics
Fuerth, Germany: As previously announced in May this year, PolyIC will be
demonstrating, live and exclusively, the innovative applications for printed electronics
at the LOPE-C in the Frankfurt fair halls. These applications include the PolyIC coffee
machine with contactless operation, thanks to printed radio chips, and an interactive
marketing application.
Another example is the use of radio chips in the sector of brand protection which
enable products to be checked for their authenticity. This is demonstrated by means
of an intelligent wine label. In addition, globally unique printed radio-activated
displays in which interactive quizzes are integrated will be on show. Games for the
next generation look like this: Inexpensively produced by a printer, the playing card
interacts with the player via an activator. A similar application involves tickets with
interactive displays.
A highlight at the PolyIC exhibition stand is a roll of printed electronics from roll-to-roll
production, plus information about the production data, e.g. about the transistor yield.
Transistor yields of 99% have already been measured. The roll can be seen on the
appended picture.
PolyIC will also be showing printed RFID tags exclusively and live in function for the
first time in the history of printed electronics. These RFID tags originate from the
ongoing roll-to-roll production. They will be demonstrated at the PolyIC stand,
together with a corresponding reader.
And that is not everything: even more exhibits will be on display, such as high
resolution flexible structures, results from the PRISMA project, an evaluation kit for
printed radio chips and more. A visit to the stand H22 will definitely be worthwhile!
